The Problem
Buying a Business Alone Is Harder Than It Looks
Most first-time buyers don't fail because they picked the wrong business. They fail because no one was managing the process.
Overwhelming listings
Thousands of listings across a dozen sites, with no reliable way to know which are real, fairly priced, or worth your time.
No way to evaluate deals
Without a trained eye, it's nearly impossible to tell a genuinely healthy business apart from one with a hidden, fatal flaw.
Fear of overpaying
Sellers know their business intimately. Most buyers walk into negotiation without a clear read on what "fair" actually looks like.
Deals collapsing in diligence
Most deals that die, die late — often over issues that a disciplined process would have caught weeks earlier.
How It Works
One Team, Six Steps, One Accountable Process
The same end-to-end process institutional buy-side teams run — managed for you, start to finish.
Search & Match
We define your acquisition criteria — industry, size, location, cash flow — then source on-market and off-market opportunities against that exact profile.
Screening & Evaluation
We filter every opportunity down to serious, financially sound candidates before you ever spend an hour of your own time on them.
Due Diligence
We coordinate financial, legal, and operational review to catch red flags early — before they become expensive mistakes.
Negotiation
We structure and negotiate your letter of intent and purchase terms on your behalf, so you're never negotiating alone.
Financing
We structure the deal for lender approval and coordinate SBA and conventional financing options where applicable.
Closing & Beyond
We manage closing logistics end to end, then stay engaged with post-acquisition transition support as you take the wheel.
Why Now
The Opportunity — And the Bar to Clear — Are Both Rising
More businesses are becoming available. More everyday professionals are pursuing acquisition. And the financing bar is getting harder to clear without help.
Of small business owners plan to retire within the next decade — and 70% have no formal succession plan, meaning a historic wave of businesses will need new owners.

Search funds have launched in the US and Canada since 1984, with a fast-growing share of buyers now coming from industry careers rather than traditional MBA or search-fund backgrounds.

Lenders are tightening documentation and underwriting standards on acquisition loans this year — buyers without deal experience increasingly need expert help structuring a financeable deal. This is also where financing complexity hits hardest: a single structuring misstep can sink an SBA or conventional approval.

Who This Is For
Is Acquirex Right for You?
This service is built for career professionals and semi-retired executives ready to own a business — not institutional funds.
You have $150K or more in capital or financing capacity to put toward an acquisition.
You want to own and operate an established business — not build one from scratch.
You don't have months, or years, to spend learning M&A before you can act.
You're serious about closing a deal within the next 6 to 18 months.
You'd rather have an expert team running point than manage a broker, lawyer, and lender yourself.
You want an accountable partner in your corner — not just another listings feed.
Engagement
A Pricing Model Built for Individual Buyers, Not Institutions
Institutional retainers of $15,000–$75,000 a month are built for funds with institutional capital behind them — billed whether or not a deal ever closes. That doesn't fit someone acquiring one business with their own capital, so our fee is a single flat rate set by your deal's size — not a monthly retainer, and not a percentage of your final purchase price.
The Same Professional Process, Every Tier
Suggested Tiers — Based on Deal Value
The percentage range shown is the flat fee expressed as a share of deal value at each tier's low and high end — your fee is a fixed dollar amount for the tier, never calculated as a percentage of your final purchase price.
Exact scope and payment structure are confirmed on your free strategy call — acquisitions above $1.5M receive a custom quote.

What Buyers Say
Buyers Who Went From Searching Alone to Owning a Business
Illustrative of the acquisition journey we run for buyers — names shown are representative, not verified client attributions.
“I had a few online listings bookmarked and no idea if any of them were actually good businesses. Within six weeks, Acquirex had sourced two off-market opportunities I never would have found on my own.”
Acquired a commercial cleaning company, Tampa, FL
“Their diligence process caught a customer concentration issue the seller hadn't disclosed. That alone was worth the engagement — it either would have killed the deal or cost us significantly more walking in blind.”
Acquired a specialty retail business, Orlando, FL
“I'd never negotiated an LOI in my life. Having someone who does this for a living sit across the table changed the outcome — we closed well below the seller's initial ask.”
Acquired a home services franchise, Jacksonville, FL
“SBA financing felt like the scariest part of the whole process. Acquirex structured the deal so it was actually financeable, then coordinated directly with our lender until it closed.”
Acquired a boutique fitness studio, Miami, FL
“What I paid for wasn't just the deal — it was not having to become an M&A expert to get there. Search to close took about nine months, and I never once felt like I was doing this alone.”
Acquired a B2B service company, Naples, FL
FAQ
Common Questions
How is this different from working with a broker?
A broker typically represents listings and gets paid on the businesses they have on hand. We work exclusively for you as the buyer — sourcing on- and off-market opportunities, running diligence, negotiating terms, and coordinating financing — across the entire process, not just the introduction.
What does it cost?
We charge a single flat fee based on your deal's size — $5,000 for deals from $150K–$300K, $10,000 for $300K–$750K, and $17,500 for $750K–$1.5M, with a custom quote above that. There's no monthly retainer, and every tier includes the same full process: sourcing, screening, due diligence, negotiation, financing coordination, and closing support.
What size businesses do you work with?
We typically work with acquisitions in the $150,000 to $1.5 million range — owner-operated, Main Street businesses that are large enough to support a full-time buyer-operator.
Do you help with financing?
Yes. We help structure the deal for lender approval and coordinate SBA and conventional financing options where applicable, so your offer is credible and financeable from the start.
Do I need the full purchase price saved, or can this be financed?
Most buyers we work with don't pay cash for the full price. SBA and conventional financing typically cover a large majority of the purchase, with the buyer contributing a down payment — often in the 10–25% range depending on the deal. Part of our job is structuring the acquisition so it's financeable in the first place, then coordinating with lenders on your behalf.
How long does the process take?
It varies by criteria and market conditions, but most engaged buyers move from kickoff to closing within roughly 6 to 18 months. We'll set expectations specific to your goals on your strategy call.
What happens if a deal falls through during diligence?
It happens, and it's often the right outcome — diligence exists to catch problems before they become your problems. If a deal falls through, you haven't lost the process: we carry your criteria forward to the next opportunity. We'll walk through exactly how fees and timing work in that scenario on your strategy call.
What if I don't have a target industry yet?
That's normal, and it's where we start. Your first step with us is defining a clear acquisition criteria — industry, size, location, and cash flow — so we're sourcing against a real target, not a vague idea.
